How to stand-out on TikTok

No more fighting for "For You" page

In 2023 more and more people are becoming content creators! Which means more and more videos are now fighting for “For You“ feed. So, how do you stand out in your content? How do you capture people’s diminishing attention span for your content? Creating content similar to everyone else is the exact reason why most accounts are struggling to grow! You need to break the monotony and bring something fresh! If you want your content to stand out, try one of these 3 strategies1. Create loop videos2. Skip the hook3. Speed to TransitionLet’s dive into it!

Create Loop Videos

Jera Bean has done a fantastic job explaining it

Here’s another way I’ve implemented Loop videos

Skip the Hook

Vanessa Lau is a content creator and public speaker and every time I see her video I always notice 1 thing. She skips the hook. Most of us would typically begin a video with phrases like "Here's 3 tips for X" or "Here's how I grew to X" or "3 mistakes you...". However, she skips this part and starts her video mid-sentence, before introducing the hook. In the video below, she begins with "Here's another secret sauce I have for you guys". In most video scripts, this sentence would be halfway down the script. By starting mid-sentence, viewers want to know what this video is about and they stay hooked!

Speed to Transition

If you don’t have time for creating loops, try this simple trick instead. Record yourself doing something, speed up the video to 2x and incorporate a transition. Most videos are at 1x speed. Having a video at 2x can create jumpy/quick feel which breaks the monotony. And to hook the user in, add a simple transition. Most of my videos which I record within 15 minutes are done using this trick
