🤳Why you should never post what the TikTok Algorithm is "pushing"
And what you should do instead
If you’re creating content based on what people say algorithm is pushing, it is already too late. If you’re new here, I am a content creator with 550k+ followers (TikTok/Reels) and make startups go viral. My team and I also help tech companies like Zapier/TikTok explode on Reels/TikTok. First of all, I personally don’t believe the algorithm would push a certain type of content. I believe this because I’ve been a Product Manager and I know getting stakeholders aligned and implementation would be a nightmare.Without any disrespect, I think social media gurus talk about what worked for them and assume it is what the “algorithm is pushing”.Maybe it worked because you the audience had a content fatigue and they did something different which was refreshing. And that is why it worked Anyway, let us assume I am wrong and algorithm does push certain types of content. In that scenario, creating content for the algorithm is like a cat chasing a laser pointer. As soon as you start creating your content for the algorithm, it has already moved on and pushing something else. You will always be playing a catching up.

Not only it will drain you, it makes you feel frustrated and content strategy would be a mess. There will be no coherent strategy and your audience wouldn’t know what to expect. You will deny yourself an opportunity to build an authentic style of your own. So what do you then? I personally like to think about YouTube. Strategize the same way you’d strategize for YouTube. Except for Reels/TikTok, it is easier to produce and you get instant gratification in terms of views (ideally 🤞)So what do I mean by this?If you look at any successful creator/channel on any social media, you’ll notice their content has the exact same structure, style and voice. They all create a series. Creating something recognizable sets the expectations with your audience. They know what to expect when they follow you. And, it helps them recognize you among all the noise. And creating a series and a style makes it easier to scale your content. That being said, keep on experimenting as short form content has shorter shelf life so people will get a fatigue. Have a core pillar for your content and keep trying new things around it.If you agree or disagree with my opinion, do let me let me know :)
